About the St Benet’s Scholarship

The St Benet’s Scholarship has been created for pupils from selected Sixth Form schools, to support them financially as undergraduates at Oxford University. The award is not restricted to any particular denomination, and is open to all those who have received conditional offers from Oxford.

The candidate awarded the scholarship will get £1,000 per year for three years (or for the first three years for those studying Medicine, Modern Languages, etc.) as a maintenance grant.

The Applications date for 2025 has now passed, but the 2026 process will reopen next Spring 2026.

About St Benet’s Hall

The Scholarship is named in memory of St Benet’s Hall. Founded in 1897, St Benet’s Hall was the only Benedictine institution of higher education in the UK. A constituent part of Oxford University, it closed in 2022.

In the coming years, there will also be an annual lecture at Oxford named in honour of St Benet’s Hall.
